Meet the Partners

Árpád has been in the international property development and advisory business for more than 25 years including 18 years with TriGranit, having previously held senior management positions at Cushman & Wakefield in Hungary and Greece. He became the CEO of TriGranit in 2009 during challenging global economic and market conditions. Under his tenure, TriGranit succeeded to obtain over 1 billion Euros in financing and refinancing to develop around 950,000 m of projects. He successfully managed asset disposals in Central Europe – including the acquisition and exit of TriGranit by TPG – with a cumulative transaction volume of EUR 1,7 billion and developed retail and office projects such as Bonarka for Business, an office complex in Krakow, Poznan City Center in Poznan, and the Arena Centar in Zagreb.

 

Árpád holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the College for Foreign Trade and the University of Humberside, and an MA in business management and an MBA in European business administration from the University of Lincoln. He is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He was awarded the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary – Golden Cross by the President of Hungary in 2012. His vision and professional approach earned plaudits from the industry: Industry Leadership Award received in 2011 from CIJ Real Estate Awards; Real-estate Market Personality of the Year in 2015 by Iroda.hu; CEO of the Year in 2016 by Finance-Monthly; and The Most Inspiring Real Estate CEO by Global Brands Magazine.

Péter Horváth

Partner

Péter is a Hungarian and US-trained lawyer with memberships in the Budapest and New York Bar Associations. He began his career at the Budapest office of Norton Rose. Péter has a strong understanding of client needs as he has worked as both in-house counsel and legal advisor for real estate developers (TriGranit) in Central and Southern Europe, in countries such as Hungary, Romania, Poland, Slovakia or Cyprus.

 

Over the last two decades, Péter acted for clients across the full range of real estate matters including acquisitions and divestments, debt offerings, land, commercial, industrial and office development projects, real estate financings, equity investment structuring, portfolio deals, leasing and leasebacks. In addition, Péter has built up a significant track record in the resolution of complex private equity, and venture capital deals, having worked on some of the most innovative and exciting deals of the last ten years.

 

Péter is the recipient of an LLM from Columbia Law School where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and of an MBA from Cass Business School.

Marcell Szotyori - Nagy

Partner

Marcell is a senior real estate professional with over 13 years of experience in real estate advisory with special focus on real estate investment, transaction management and strategic consultancy. Previously, Marcell has worked at the Capital Markets Team of JLL for 13 years in Budapest and was a director of the company from 2014. The primary activities of his team included real estate investment advisory in Hungary and Slovenia covering office, retail, industrial/logistic assets and green/brown field development sites throughout the full cycle of the transaction from sourcing and mandate negotiation to financial modeling, marketing, due diligence and closing.

 

Since 2007 Marcell was involved in capital markets transactions of over EUR 2 billion volume including deals such as the salve of Park Atrium office building, the industrial portfolio of Erdért in 2007, the sale of Bank Center office building and the purchase of Andrássy70 office building in 2008. The disposal of Millennium Towers in 2011 and 190 retail units of the Louis Delhaize Group in 2012. Outside of Hungary in Slovenia he was also involved in the sale of the retail portfolio of SES and the Supernova portfolio in 2013. His track record also includes the sale of Margit Ház in Budapest, the purchase of Europolis Park Budapest M1 by Prologis, the disposal of the AEW portfolio in Budapest (including MOM Park Shopping Centre, West End Business Centre and EMKE) and the Prologis Park in Hegyeshalom, the acquisition of the TriGranit CEE platform by TPG and the sale of Mammut Shopping Centre and the disposal of BSR and Népliget office buildings.

 

Marcell holds an LLD from the University of Pécs, faculty of Law and attended the MSc course of Real Estate at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Marcell is a Member of RICS since 2015.

Experienced real estate professional with over 20 years of experience in commercial real estate and a strong background in industrial property development. Skilled in real estate development, asset management, property management, real estate transactions, negotiation, working with tenants, and due diligence.

 

A development and sales professional, who have led the Hungarian and Romanian offices of Prologis through multiple real estate cycles from 2006 to 2019 and have gained consultancy experience at CBRE before. László had multiple responsibilities in his country manager role of these offices, including the green field development of 300,000 sqm of industrial real estate, acquisition of over 120,000 sqm of asset and 50 ha of land and the asset management of a 800,000 sqm industrial portfolio.

László holds a BA degree in Business Studies from IBS (International Business School Budapest) and is a certified professional by RICS since 2011.

Mark Abramson

Over the last 25 years, Mark has operated in the capital markets from all sides. As a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns & Co (now JP Morgan), where he worked for 11 years, he was a sell-side equity research analyst covering real estate and other industries around the world. During this time he was #1 ranked in the prominent Institutional Investor survey of analysts. He was a partner at Heitman with whom he worked for 12 years on the buy-side managing European and global equity portfolios (hedge funds and long-only strategies) of companies in the real estate sector. His hedge fund was ranked #1 emerging specialist hedge fund by Investors Choice. He is an independent director and vice-chairman of the audit committee at Echo Investment SA, an issuer of publicly traded equities and bonds.

Based in Tel Aviv and Munich, he advises large institutional investors, opportunity funds and family offices on strategic investments in the real estate sector. He is a member of the European Public Real Estate Association’s Tax and Regulatory Committee. Mark earned his BA in Political Economics from the Johns Hopkins University, his MA in Monetary Economics from the American University and completed post-graduate studies at the University of Maryland in International Public Policy.

He has been working in the tax and accounting field for 25 years, and has experience as a Chief Accountant and Chief Financial Officer at telecom (MATAV), investment services (KBC subsidiaries), legal consulting (Clifford Chance) and Big 4 audit companies.

 

He founded his own consulting firm 10 years ago, where he advises leading players in the Hungarian real estate market in the areas of direct taxation, IFRS, real estate company valuation and tax auditing.

 

After having graduated from the College of Finance and Accounting, Antal graduated from the Budapest University of Economics. Later, through his studies, he became an IFRS certified accountant and chartered tax expert in direct taxes.

Tábori Antal

Gábor worked for KPMG Advisory Real Estate, Leisure and Tourism practice for more than 12 years. At KPMG he was the leader of over 70 consulting engagements related to hotel and leisure developments, mainly performing market research, valuation, feasibility study and transaction advisory assignments in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia & CIS. He has also worked on market research publications such as the KPMG Mediterranean Resort survey, the Hotel Development Cost survey and the European Real Estate Snapshot.

Gábor is currently responsible for managing the real estate investments of private equity fund and asset management firm Dominarium based in Budapest. The strategy of the company focuses on investments in the hospitality, retail and leisure industries in prime urban locations of Central & Eastern Europe. Gábor has been involved in the whole cycle of investments from acquisition, to financing, operational solutions, (re)development, asset management and exit.

Gábor has received his hotel operations and management training at Marriott in the USA and Hilton in Hungary. He holds a BA in Tourism and Hotel Management and graduated from the MSc course of Real Estate at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Gábor is a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors since 2011, as well as a certified real estate agent and valuer.

Gábor Tóbiás

Norbert Lőrincz

Partner

Norbert is a real estate operational expert, and has been in the international real estate development and operations for almost four decades including 15 years at TriGranit Group, having previously held senior operational management positions at Inter-Continental Hotels in several areas, and also thereafter regional management positions at Immofinanz AG and Bream RE, supervising the operation of the companies’ commercial real estate portfolio in CEE and Russia - including shopping malls, retail parks and office buildings in the development phase and during the operational phase. He was promoted to operational director of Westend City Center in 1999, the largest mixed used property in Hungary, held by TriGranit. Norbert also turned to be not only a constant member of the company’s pre-opening management team at TriGranit at successful projects in Slovakia, Poland, Romania, and Hungary, but regional manager as well after the openings.

 

After having graduated as Hotel and Tourism salesman from the International College of Tourism and Management in Krems, Austria, Norbert graduated Summa cum Laude at Institutional Hotel Management at Johnson & Wales University RI, USA.

János Simon

János is a seasoned property lawyer. His practice primarily focuses on commercial leasing, commercial real estate services (asset, and property management), real estate acquisitions, property development and construction.

János started his career at the Budapest o ce of the leading French international law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel. Regularly working across multiple jurisdictions, Janos has advised on numerous high-profile transactions and led on landmark deals for Austrian and Italian real estate investment funds, German property investors, and French construction companies. He also regularly advises clients on a variety of corporate matters such as governance, regulatory and disclosure issues.

 

János graduated from ELTE (Budapest), Faculty of Law.

Máté Vinglman

Máté is a business-focused lawyer specializing in the areas of capital markets and banking and financial services. He advised a wide array of publicly traded and private companies on their capital market transactions including public takeovers, corporate bond offerings, and initial public offering. Additionally, he regularly advises commercial banks in a variety of finance transactions regarding syndicated credit facilities, acquisition financing, repo transactions, cross border NPL portfolio transfer, and factoring.

Máté started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he gained experience in the field of taxation issues of cross-border revenues in the international mobility group. In 2017, he joined to the banking and finance group of Baker & McKenzie Budapest, mainly on financing and capital market regulatory engagements. For the last three years Máté was a leading member of HBK Partner’s banking & finance and capital markets practice group.

 

Máté graduated from ELTE (Budapest), Faculty of Law.
